Product IntroductionRobotics TechnologyIRB 120 Industrial Robot ABB's smallest robot - ideal for compact and flexible productionIRB 120 is the latest member of ABB's new fourth-generation robot series and the smallest robot ABB has ever manufactured. IRB 120 is agile, compact and lightweight, with excellent control accuracy and path accuracy, making it an ideal choice for material handling and assembly applications.Compact and lightweight
As ABB's smallest robot to date, the IRB 120 combines all the features and technologies of the ABB product range in a compact space. With a weight of only 25kg and a compact design, it can be installed almost anywhere, such as inside a workstation, above a mechanical device, or next to other robots on the production line.
Wide range of applications
The IRB 120 is widely used in electronics, food and beverage, machinery, solar energy, pharmaceuticals, medical, research and other fields, further strengthening the strength of ABB's new fourth-generation robot series. The cleanroom ISO 5 model with white coating is suitable for high-standard clean production environments, opening up new application areas.
Food-grade lubrication
The optional food-grade lubrication (NSF H1) version includes cleanroom ISO 5, ensuring safety and hygiene in food and beverage applications. The cleanroom ISO 5 design eliminates potential contamination in food handling areas, and this version has a smooth surface and special paint for easy cleaning.
Easy to integrate
Weighing only 25kg, the IRB 120 stands out from its peers with excellent portability and integration. The robot can be installed at any angle without any restrictions. The body has a smooth surface for easy cleaning; the air lines and user signal cables are all embedded in the body from the base to the wrist, which is easy to integrate into the robot.
Optimized working range
In addition to the horizontal working range of 580mm, the IRB 120 also has an excellent working range, with a pick-up distance of 112mm below the base. The symmetrical structure of the IRB 120, without a protrusion on the second axis, has a small turning radius and can be installed close to other equipment. The slim wrist further enhances the working range of the arm.
Fast, accurate and agile
The IRB 120 is equipped with a lightweight aluminum alloy motor. The light structure and powerful power enable the robot to run at high acceleration, ensuring excellent accuracy and agility in various applications. When the workpiece requires a lot of redirection, use the IRB 120T version, mainly using axes 4, 5 and 6, and the cycle time can be reduced by 25%. This high-speed model is well suited for picking and packaging applications and guided operations in combination with PickMaster 3?.
IRC5 Compact Controller: Perfect for Small Robots
ABB’s new compact controller is a compact device that brings the advanced features of the IRC5 to a wider range of applications, bringing precision and motion control previously reserved for larger machines to a wider range of applications.
In addition to saving space, the new controller also simplifies commissioning with single-phase power input, external signal connectors (all signals) and a built-in expandable 16-way I/O system.
Offline programming software RobotStudio can be used to simulate production workstations to set the best position for the robot; offline programming can also be performed to avoid costly production interruptions or delays.
Reduced footprint
The combination of the compact and lightweight IRB 120 robot and the IRC5 Compact Controller significantly reduces the footprint, especially for applications with limited space.
