Main featuresThe IRB 8700 is designed to be both reliable and cost-effective. Its components are simple, durable, and combined with ABB's decades of professional experience, it not only meets customers' demand for high-performance robots, but also reduces maintenance costs overall. In addition, compared with other robots of the same level, the IRB 8700's operating speed is increased by 25%.Features and Benefits:
·Loads up to 1000 kg with wrist pointing vertically downward
·25% faster than comparable products
·Simple and reliable design with Foundry Plus 2 protection
·Supports LeanID technology, reduces cable pack wear and is easy to simulate
·Produced with harmless materials
Reliable performance
The IRB 8700 is simple and intuitive, uses high-quality components, effectively extends the life of the cable pack through LeanID technology, and is based on ABB's Foundry Plus 2 protection standard to achieve long operating times, making it ideal for 24/7 production.
Simple design
The IRB 8700 is equipped with only one motor and one transmission per axis, while most other robots in the same class are equipped with dual motors and/or dual transmissions. In addition, the IRB 8700 is mainly balanced by safety weights and mechanical springs to avoid safety hazards such as air leakage caused by gas springs. With the above design, the IRB8700 has a lower total number of parts, resulting in lower failure rates, faster cycles and higher precision.
Using LeanID technology
ABB has developed a new solution based on LeanID technology, which is not only cheaper than fully integrated cable packages, but also maximizes benefits. With LeanID technology, robots are easier to simulate offline programming, cable packages have a longer service life, and flexible production can be achieved in a larger working range or a smaller space.
High-speed operation
Traditional high-load robots usually run slowly, but the IRB 8700 breaks this bottleneck. The IRB 8700 not only has a small footprint, but also has optimized counterweights, parallel links and rigid shafts, and reduces the number of drive motors, with the advantages of small inertia and high speed. This design makes the IRB8700 run 25% faster than other robots of the same level. In addition, thanks to the excellent motion control performance under large inertia (725 kgm2), the IRB 8700 can automatically slow down or adjust to complete the handling tasks of heavy and large-sized parts.
Sustainability
IRB 8700 is fully compliant with RoHS 2002/95/EC and No1907/2006 environmental directives and uses non-hazardous materials, making the working environment safer.
