Based on ABB's more than 13 years of experience in this application industry, the third-generation Foundry Prime robot has improved stability and increased system uptime while reducing maintenance costs.
Flexibility helps efficiency
The IRB 6790 is highly flexible and can clean parts of different shapes in the same workstation without changing lines, making it easier for automakers, OEMs and their component suppliers to carry out large-scale customized production. In addition to improving flexibility and production efficiency, the solution also increases production speed and reduces production cycles by an average of 5%.

Enhanced waterproof and dustproof
The third-generation Foundry Prime robot has an IP69 waterproof and dustproof rating, which can provide enhanced protection against high temperatures, clean high pressures, chemicals and dust commonly found in harsh and wet environments, without the need for additional complex protective covers. The foundry robots are designed to be highly chemical resistant, as detergents used in cleaning or rinsing processes can reach pH values up to 10. In addition, all external surfaces of the robots are coated or made of stainless steel to prevent corrosion. The third generation Foundry Prime robots can withstand 100% humidity and water vapor from typical cleaning applications, ensuring a long product life under aggressive cleaning operations.
